Pre Production: CBBC comissioning

Today I have been doing a lot of research into the channel, CBBC. This page on the BBC website has been really helpful and shown me how I can fit into the guideline CBBC have.

It also showed me someone to contact, Sue Nott is the person that comissions for drama on CBBC, So I have emailed her the following for any advice and guidelines she can give me:

Dear Sue,

I am third year student studying Broadcast Media, at the University of Creative Arts and I was emailing you to ask for some information. For my current project I am adapting Jacquline Wilson's novel 'The Suitcase Kid' into a 70 Minute film for children. I am looking to use CBBC as the 'hyperthetical' channel that I would pitch my idea for. I was just wondering what your thoughts were about this. I understand that short films are shown on CBBC in the holiday and half terms, but do you usually go for adaptations? Is Jacquline Wilson a good idea? Considering the success of Tracey Beaker, this helped me to deceide on CBBC. I have already read the CBBC comissioning briefs online and found them very helpful, but thought I'd email you for some more information. I understand you are very busy, so thank you for taking the time to read this.
Thank you for any help or information you can give me,

Maddie Ireland

So hopfully I will hear back from her.
