Direction Unit: Idea development

I have chosen my television drama and it will be Skins.
'Skins is a BAFTA award-winning British reality teen drama that follows a group of teenagers in Bristol, South West England, through the two years of college '
The show was created by father and son television writers Bryan Elsley and Jamie Brittain for Company Pictures.

I have chosen a scene from the first episode, in which the 5 of the 7 main characters are sitting on a field outside college chatting and discussing their plans. I specifically have chosen this scene as it allows the audience introduction to each of the characters and gives an insight into their personalities. It also really portrays what the series is about as in those feweminutes the main themes of friendship, sex and drugs are all mentioned.
Iam now beginning to think how I could direct my 3 minute piece so that I can out my own take on it.
These are the ideas I have come up with so far:

1. Changing the location of the scene, for example in this scene they are all in casual clothes sitting in a field, where I could have the characters in school uniform or sixth form attire and in a classroom, so a more controlled enviroment.
2. I could changed how relaxed the scene is, ie make the characters a bit more wary of whos around listening to the conversation.
3. I could change the attitudes of the characters, for example have them wortking while talking as if there is a teacher in the room.

Thats all I have really come up with so far, so I will continue to brainstorm.
