As Live unit: Idea development

I have deceided that I am going to go with my idea of the British gameshow/chat show. With their being the Olympics and the Queens Jubilee, there is a lot going on in Britian this year. I would like to get people on this show that really are the definition of Britain, for example I think a really good guest would be a royal fanatic and we could have a VT of their house and lifestyle. They would be an interesting guest as they have a lot to talk about as its a passion of theirs. I would hope to have 3 guests on in the half hour each with a different passion for Britain. The presenter would chat to each guests and there would also be little games and quizzes about Britain for fun.

The set I have in mind will have a lot of Union Jacks and pictures of all things royal around. The guests sofa would be a regal cream couch with gold outline. These are some pictures I have found to show what I mean:

This idea is still a working progress but I am coming up with more and more ideas each day!

  1. I like this idea as there is a clear brand and style. Good choice of focus with clear reasoning re: peg the idea to Olympics/Jubilee etc. Make sure you focus the idea so that we know what genre we are getting - is it a collector's show? Will we be learning about their collectables a la Antiques Roadshow (there is a sort of Antiques mastermind show on BBC2 called 'Antiques Master). If it is about all things British think how it will hold together - is a magazine format better? Or even a one-off special simply about Britain ???
